How Support Begins

Planning ahead gives us time to get to know your family, understand what you may need, and create support that can flex with real postpartum life.

Step 1: Submit an Inquiry

Share your estimated due date, location, service interest, and what kind of support you’re looking for.

Step 2: Schedule a Consultation

We’ll talk through your goals, questions, concerns, and what type of support may feel most helpful for your family.

Step 3: Choose Your Support Package

After consultation, you’ll select the care option that best fits your needs, schedule, and desired level of support.

Step 4: Reserve Your Due Date Window

Your support is reserved around your estimated due date, allowing flexibility for early delivery, late delivery, induction, C-section, or discharge changes.

Step 5: Sign Agreement + Submit Deposit

Your booking is confirmed once your client agreement is signed and your deposit is paid.

Step 6: Stay Connected Before Baby Arrives

You’ll update A Touch of Nurture as your due date approaches or if your birth plan/timing changes.

Step 7: Begin Support at Home

Once baby arrives and your family is ready, support begins based on your selected package and schedule

Due Date Window Explained

A Touch of Nurture uses a due date window model because birth is naturally unpredictable. Instead of booking support based only on one exact date, families reserve care around the estimated time the baby is expected to arrive.

This allows for more realistic planning if the baby arrives early, late, or if your birth plan changes.

Your due date window will be discussed during consultation and confirmed in your client agreement.

Deposit + Payment

A deposit is required to reserve your due date window and selected care package. Your remaining balance and payment schedule will be outlined in your client agreement.

Your deposit helps secure planning time, availability, and preparation for your family’s support needs.

Communication Expectations

Communication is an important part of postpartum planning. Clients are expected to provide updates such as due dates, birth plans, discharge timing, or changes in household needs.

Please communicate updates related to:

  • Induction or C-section scheduling

  • Early labor or delivery

  • Hospital discharge timing

  • Baby’s arrival

  • Illness in the household

  • Schedule changes

  • New or urgent concerns

  • Changes in support needs

For urgent medical concerns, contact your medical provider or emergency services.

After Baby Arrives

Once the baby arrives, you’ll notify A Touch of Nurture so we can discuss timing and begin support according to your selected package and availability window.

Before the first visit, you may be asked to complete or update an intake form so care can be tailored to your family’s current needs.

At the first visit, we’ll review your goals, feeding plan, newborn care questions, recovery needs, and any immediate priorities.

What to Expect During a Visit

Each visit is designed to be calm, supportive, and responsive to your family’s needs that day.

Depending on your package, a visit may include:

  • Checking in on parent recovery and comfort

  • Supporting feeding routines within scope

  • Helping with newborn care questions

  • Demonstrating soothing and settling techniques

  • Reviewing safe sleep practices

  • Supporting rest by caring for baby while parent rests

  • Light baby-related reset, such as bottles, pump parts, baby laundry, or nursery organization

  • Helping parents build confidence with daily newborn care

What Support Does NOT Include

A Touch of Nurture does not replace medical care. Services are educational and supportive, not emergency or diagnostic.

Services do not include:

  • Emergency medical care

  • Diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions

  • Medication prescribing or medication management

  • Replacing care from OB, midwife, pediatrician, lactation provider, mental health provider, or emergency services

  • Deep cleaning or full housekeeping
